Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to support manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. The role will focus on monitoring manufacturing costs, inventory movements, production variances, and cost-control activities.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Cost Accounting

Record, review, and validate manufacturing costs related to materials, labor, overheads, scrap, rework, and production orders.
Support product costing, standard cost maintenance, BOM costing, and routing cost validation.
Monitor cost allocation to production orders, cost centers, and manufacturing activities.
Support monthly cost closing and ensure accurate financial records.
Inventory & Material Cost Control

Support inventory valuation and material consumption analysis.
Review material usage against BOM and identify abnormal consumption, waste, and variances.
Reconcile inventory records with production reports and physical stock.
Support cycle counts, stock takes, inventory adjustments, and variance investigations.
Production Variance Analysis

Analyze material, labor, overhead, scrap, rework, and production efficiency variances.
Prepare variance reports by product, production line, cost center, and manufacturing area.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to identify variance drivers.
Highlight unusual cost movements and potential risks.
Manufacturing Performance Reporting

Prepare reports covering production costs, conversion costs, material costs, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap, rework, and factory utilization.
Support cost trend analysis, cost bridges, and manufacturing KPI dashboards.
Compare actual manufacturing costs against budgets, standard costs, and forecasts.
Month-End Closing

Support month-end and year-end manufacturing cost accounting activities.
Validate production order settlements, cost center postings, inventory movements, and accruals.
Prepare supporting schedules for manufacturing costs, inventory, and variance accounts.
Ensure closing activities are completed accurately and on time.
Controls, Compliance & Audit

Follow approved costing policies, internal controls, SOPs, and approval procedures.
Support internal and external audits related to inventory, costing, and manufacturing expenses.
Maintain proper documentation for costing calculations, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Identify and report control gaps requiring corrective action.
Academic Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
