Senior HSE Engineer

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HSE Engineer to lead and strengthen health, safety, and environmental initiatives across projects. The role is responsible for implementing HSE management systems, promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management Systems.
Conduct advanced risk assessments, site audits, inspections, and safety reviews to identify hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
Investigate major incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Provide expert HSE guidance, training, and support to project teams, employees, and management.
Monitor compliance with applicable local, national, and international HSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate HSE requirements throughout all project phases.
Monitor HSE performance indicators and prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.
Identify opportunities to improve safety performance and promote a proactive safety culture across project sites.
Keep up to date with emerging HSE regulations, technologies, practices, and industry trends.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive HSE experience, preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sector.
Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, international standards, risk management, and safety management systems.
Proven experience in HSE audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety training.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
